Porto Calheta is located on the Atlantic ocean and it is in the 59th place out of 62 beaches in the Cape Verde region 31.3 km away from its center, the city of Praia. It is one of the beaches of Calheta de Sao Miguel settlement, just 0.4 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and black sand & pebble cover, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal.
