Bunga Beach

This beach is absolutely stunning, located within Mimosa Rocks National Park. Dogs are not allowed and there are 1080 poisoned baits laid out. It is a nesting place for endangered sea birds. The beach is fairly predictable but very isolated, so be cautious in the surf. The road access is gravel and eroded, requiring careful navigation through the ruts. It is not recommended to attempt it in a sedan or lower vehicle, even if it is AWD. There are some large mansions nearby, indicating a preference for privacy. A bull was seen running in the dunes on the national park side, making its way onto the beach. It was not interested in sharing the space, so a quick exit was necessary. This unexpected encounter added some excitement to the visit.

Horse Head Rock Beach

When you lay your eyes on the captivating Horse Head Rock, get ready to be transported to a magical world. This stunning rock formation, located near Bermagui along the Sapphire Coast, truly lives up to its name. Resembling the graceful neck of a majestic horse, it exudes an air of elegance and mystery. What makes it even more extraordinary is its historical significance—it is one of New South Wales' oldest geological wonders, with an age of over 500 million years. To fully appreciate the beauty of Horse Head Rock, I suggest visiting the lookout platform, which can be reached by taking a scenic 1.5-kilometer elevated walking track between Camel Rock and Murunna Point. While the journey itself is an immersive experience, please keep in mind that if you choose to approach the rock from Camel Rock Surf Beach, access is only possible during low tide and calm seas. Additionally, it is important to wear appropriate footwear such as hiking boots, as the rocks can be quite slippery. Prepare to be captivated by the enchanting atmosphere and surreal beauty that Horse Head Rock offers. It is a destination that will transport you to a world where dreams and reality intertwine, leaving you with memories that will stay in your heart long after your visit.

Poole's Beach

What a fantastic beach! During the busy Christmas season, we were pleasantly surprised to find it peaceful, with only two small clusters of people around. Although we didn't have enough time to walk the entire length, we managed to enjoy a quick swim, explore the rock pools, and gather some interesting shells. The central part of the beach appeared untouched and pristine, with exceptionally clear waters.
