That place is not easily accessible, but the journey is worth it! There is a great hiking trail up the mountain that offers stunning views, and the beach itself has gray sand.
This spot is an absolute paradise! The scenery is breathtaking and you can almost feel like you're in Bali. However, be aware of the powerful waves that can be quite dangerous.
Playa de Benijo II and those around it are my absolute favourite in Tenerife. It's all the more beautiful for the fact that it's difficult to access and potentially dangerous. Getting there is already a challenge - it's 26 km from La Laguna and takes around an hour - and there are even more treacherous roads on Tenerife, like Masca and Sauzal costa. covered in a very fine, black and shiny sand, and the waves are strong with many rocks scattered at unknown depths. And, to top it all off, it has a Virgin beach with no amenities! All in all, it's worth spending at least half a day here - the effort to get there is definitely worth it. FABULOUS!
The beach has a beautiful panorama from the top and its gray sand is complemented by strong waves and a strong current, so beware! It's not as clean as the nearby Playa Almáciga, so take caution when swimming. To access the beach from Almáciga, you can either walk along the road until you reach the parking lot and take steep stairs down, or you can take the rocky path along the coast. However, I don't recommend this route as it can be dangerous. Even with hiking shoes, I had to be careful to avoid injuries. Additionally, do not stay under the cliff due to the loose rocks!
We voted the whole beach system around Benijo in Tenerife as the best we have visited. The black sand is stunning, the waves are great, and the views are unbeatable. It's especially lovely in the afternoon. There are beaches with amenities and lifeguards, as well as wilder ones. Plus, there's a pristine Virgin beach with no amenities. Highly recommended!
