The beach is nice and allows dogs at any time after September 31st. It is a pebble beach after high tide, but the sand reappears. There are plenty of dogs running around, and surprisingly, it is less windy on the beach than in the car park. The car park is quite expensive, but at least you can pay via app. Unfortunately, this is a common issue with these types of places.
We always enjoy returning to the bay whenever we visit the Bude area. The beach is dog-friendly at the southern end and for everyone after 6:00 pm. It's a great spot for all visitors! The beach is consistently clean and patrolled by RNLI guards. There is plenty of parking and refreshments available at the back of the beach, and we have always been able to find a spot to park no matter the time of year.
This beach is consistently rated as one of the top spots for surfing and bodyboarding, with plenty of sandy shores. We've been visiting for 25 years and never tire of it. The Widemouth Bay Café is fantastic, and there are also surfing lessons available.
This beach is one of our go-to spots in the summer evenings, especially since dogs are only permitted on the beach after 6pm during peak season. However, the car park payment can be frustrating as the parking app often doesn't work due to lack of internet coverage. The pricing has been updated this year, now costing £2 from 6pm to midnight. Be sure to have a bank card on hand or use the Wi-Fi from the nearby cafe.
The beach offers stunning views with a mix of sandy and rocky areas. The beautiful blue seas attract surfers and swimmers alike. Take a leisurely walk along the shore, feeling the sand between your toes. Parking is available for a fee, and there are on-site amenities such as a cafe, toilets, and a lifeguard on duty.
