Shile in Istanbul is a must-see destination due to its breathtaking beauty. Despite being a bit remote and challenging to get to, the trip is absolutely worth it. The beach, lighthouse, scenery, and general vibe are all truly incredible. Moreover, you'll find numerous small, family-owned businesses in the vicinity. During my visit, I had the delightful opportunity to savor a delicious meal at a restaurant where the owner's mother personally prepared my food. It was a heartwarming experience that left me feeling truly content.
The beach is located 50 minutes away from Istanbul by car and is known as the Resort or Backyard of Istanbul. The sea view is truly breathtaking and the water is crystal clear. However, upon closer inspection, the beach is littered with small trash such as cigarette butts, sunflower seed shells, candy wrappers, and plastic waste. There is actually a pristine beach halfway between Şile and Aya, but there is an entrance fee to access it.
The beach is stunning, but the water is not very clean.
I would rate this beach based on the views. The castle, shores, and marina offer stunning scenery. However, there are no nearby services and parking is not free - you must pay 36 lira even for a short stop.
The beach offers stunning views, a pleasant atmosphere, and plenty of great restaurants with panoramic views nearby.
