The journey from Paihia to Russell is fantastic, with a variety of fun activities available such as helicopter rides, paragliding, boat cruises, and speed boat rides. The boat service between Paihia and Russell runs every 15 minutes and is affordable, providing a great experience.
There is free parking available along the seafront, at least in November. However, it's best to arrive early as it can fill up quickly. The beach itself is excellent with soft sandy shores.
A beautiful and tranquil spot in the Bay of Islands.
The beach is small and has a mix of rocky and sandy areas. It is clean and suitable for children, especially in the areas without rocks. The waves are not too high, making it a safe option. There is a nice walking track nearby, and families can be seen walking around from early morning until late at night. There is a wharf nearby where you can catch a boat to Russell. Overall, it is a good spot, but it's best not to compare it to some of the more famous beaches in New Zealand.
This beach is truly fantastic. There is plenty of sand and shade available. It can get quite crowded during holidays and weekends when the weather is nice. It is conveniently located near the town center and pubs. There are many great spots to enjoy fish and chips. While most areas are kid-friendly, it's important to be cautious of the current.
