The beach is stunningly large and features a freshwater stream that runs from top to bottom, perfect for dogs to play, cool off, and have a drink. Families with young children can safely enjoy the low stream without worrying about the sea or waves. The tide goes out quite far, expanding the beach even more, but be cautious as it comes in quickly due to the flat terrain. If you're walking along the cliffs on the sides, stay alert.
This beach in North Cornwall is one of our favorites. Just a heads up, conditions can change and there may be rip tides, as is common on many beaches. Lifeguards are on duty here until October. There are plenty of cafes and a restaurant nearby.
I first brought my children, aged 2 and 4, to this stunning beach many years ago. Now, they are in their 50s and still bring their own children, my grandchildren, every year. We all love it here and have never missed a year since our first visit. Be sure to visit the Merrymore pub, Betty's, the surf shop, and the new wine bar. 5 stars just doesn't do it justice.
This beach is amazing, possibly my top choice in Cornwall. It has everything you need for a perfect beach day. The parking is only £5 for the day, and there are toilets, cafes, pubs, shops, and more. The sandy beach, caves, rock pools, warm sea, and good waves for bodyboarding/surfing make it a great spot. It's well-maintained and clean, and dog-friendly too. I highly recommend a visit to this beach.
The beach is beautiful with excellent surfing and bodyboarding opportunities. There is plenty of space, caves, and a river for children to enjoy. The tide comes in quite far, and the water is crystal clear. The RNLI lifeguards are on duty to ensure everyone's safety.
