I absolutely love this beach! There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, beautiful beaches with sunbeds, and one of the bays even has an inflatable play area in the sea. The marina is also very picturesque. It's definitely worth staying here.
Playa de las Américas is a lovely sandy beach that tends to be quite crowded. It's a lengthy stretch of coastline where you can engage in various activities such as sunbathing, swimming, surfing, or simply taking a leisurely stroll while admiring the scenery. Like many beaches in Tenerife, it does have some rocky areas. This beach is particularly popular among water sports enthusiasts, as we noticed a large number of surfers during our visit. There are plenty of places nearby where you can rent surfboards. The bustling alley nearby is filled with numerous restaurants, bars, and shops.
Playa de las Américas is a fantastic destination for couples, families, and groups of friends. There is a wide range of activities to suit everyone's tastes, whether it's lounging on the beach or checking out the town's numerous shops, eateries, and bars.
I snapped a photo of the beach during low tide to demonstrate that it is not sandy or rocky, but rather a rocky surface. The rocks are extremely slippery and sharp, making it unsafe for swimming, especially for children. A gravel bar littered with trash has been placed over the rocky platform, giving the illusion of a sandy beach at high tide, but it is deceiving. Even seasoned surfers struggle and lose their balance before entering the water. I am puzzled as to why some individuals post images and reviews of different beaches for this location, so do not be misled by them.
This beach is a great spot for water sports enthusiasts, with surfing being the main draw. There are plenty of places to rent boards or take lessons. The presence of many surfers adds to the beach's charm, making it a great place to relax and watch others catch some waves.
