Good Place to be. Lots to walk. It’s a beautiful little island, took us about 40 mins to walk the whole way, but there’s really not much to do on it. There are no places to get food and water so highly recommend bringing your own before coming here. We took around 20 mins to reach Saint John Island by Ferry at Marina South Pier Ferry Terminal. The Ferry is stable and very good trip to the island. We walked closed to an hour in the Island visiting every corner including the Maritime Laboratory Centre before walking over to Lazarus Island.
St John's Island: A Tranquil Escape Craving a break from Singapore's urban buzz? St John's Island offers a quick and charming escape. Just a ferry ride away, this island beckons with tranquility. Nature's Haven: Explore walking trails shaded by heritage trees. Breathe in the fresh air and soak in the island's serenity. Beach Bliss: Relax on St John's Lagoon, the island's main beach. It's perfect for a picnic or simply unwinding on the sand. Island Hopping Bonus: St John's Island connects to Lazarus and several smaller islets. Extend your adventure by exploring these neighboring islands for a more comprehensive island hopping experience. Things to Keep in Mind: Amenities are limited. Pack essentials like snacks and drinks, and be prepared for potentially basic bathroom facilities. Ferry schedules can be less frequent on weekdays. Plan accordingly to avoid extended waiting times. Overall, St John's Island is a perfect choice for a day trip seeking nature, relaxation, and a glimpse of Singapore's lesser-known side.
Bought ferry tickets via Klook (14 sgd with 3$ Gongcha voucher) on Saturday for a day trip on Sunday. Experienced zero hassle in redemption process at the pier. Need to pay attention on ferry schedule to know when to hop on hop off to St John Island, Kushu Island and get back. The view is nice, great place for swimming/going around. No shop on the island so should bring your snack/water. Would enjoy more if it wasn't a hot day.
Good place if you wanna get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Purchase a $15 ferry ticket shuttle and spend your whole day at St. John’s & the other southern islands. Set up camp and bbq at the first come first served areas.
The experience of staying in Otter camp was good. Everything in working condition. Kitchen area is perfect for cooking and eating. 1 fridge and freezer. We boil the water and store in the jugs provided for drinking. Overall had a good time with the nice surroundings and bird chirping and away from the sounds of vehicles(besides the passing boats). What could be better is to have at least vending machines accessible.
