I come here often. Great place for a swim if the waves are not to crazy, but you can also swim at the river entrance there. Good for snorkelling, fishing and definitely checkout the rock pools near the island. The Lake Tabourie car park is near the river and you can access the beach from there. The car park has picnic tables, bins, bbq area, toilets and outdoor shower.
Quiet beach with good access. Can do some kayaking or SUP on the adjacent creek. Can even go fishing. Strong currents on the beach front with good access to nearby Crampton Island. A nice long stroll in the morning is recommended.
A peaceful and quiet beach, perfect for chilling out and relaxing! The only crowd which does come to the beach is from the holiday park.
I use to come in the late 60’s and 70’s. We use to camp using huge green tents. Friends and families set up tents long side each other. Those days it was not so popular and no one heard of Tabourie. We fish in the lake and swim at both beach and lake. Abalone diving up the other beach. There were no homes and huge sand dune, they we slide down into the lake. On the island we watch the little fairy penguins. These day I don’t think I would go there now because it is so popular. I think this place is now for a different generation We had no pools jumping things or water parks. All we had on Sunday a group we called the Mickey Mouse church as someone dressed up as Mickey would walk around the campsite, picking up kids and taking them to Sunday school. That gave the parents a break for most the day. We were very much happy little vegemites. My memories of what Lake Tabourie was. Enjoy your memories.
Beautiful natural beach of South Coast in between Jervis bay to Batemans bay. very good natural beaches & lakes around this Lake Tabourie area. The area between Tabourie Lake & Tabourie Beach is ideal for kids to play in water or for kids water activity as the water is not deep at all. Canoeing from beach to lake is awesome and very safe because of knee height water around Tabourie creek to Tabourie lake.
