We had an amazing time at the beach for our first outing of the year on the Tuesday following Memorial Day. The beach was impeccably clean with no litter or cigarette butts in sight, and the trash cans were regularly emptied. The bathhouse facilities were well-maintained and fully stocked, and the showers were in perfect working order. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional presence of the lifeguards. We were fortunate enough to witness a rescue drill and were thoroughly impressed with the team's coordination and effort. Our children were particularly amazed by the display. As a lifelong lover of Sandbridge and a local resident, I couldn't be prouder of our VB guards.

This beach is still located within the city limits, but it offers a peaceful atmosphere compared to downtown Virginia Beach. However, there is a trade-off. The area is primarily residential, with a few beach houses available for rent and only a handful of commercial establishments. These include one restaurant, a small grocery store, an ice cream shop, and a few small beach shops. Parking is conveniently located directly across the street from the beach, and there is a bath house available. For non-residents, the September rate for all-day parking is $5. Alternatively, you can find free parking along the road, but keep in mind that there are no restrooms or other amenities available, and they tend to fill up quickly on weekends or during the tourist season. Additionally, there are no gas stations within several miles, so it's important to ensure that you have enough fuel in your tank to return to the city.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay at the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made us feel delighted. Our room was spotless and the breakfast was enjoyable. The proximity to the beach was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the well-maintained pools. Without a doubt, we will return in the future.

This picturesque beach offers endless opportunities to create lasting memories. Our family had a blast driving along the secluded shoreline, catching glimpses of the majestic wild horses. Nighttime crab hunting was a thrilling adventure, and we captured some incredible photos at the historic Corolla park. One unforgettable moment was when I waved to military personnel from a passing helicopter while riding in the bed of a truck, feeling the wind in my hair. Corolla beach truly captured my heart.
