Captiva beach

The beach's parking fee for a day is $40.35 for 11 hours, $25 for 2 hours, and $15 for 1 hour. The parking lot is small, but that may explain why the beach was peaceful and uncrowded. It's an ideal place for families, but remember to bring a beach umbrella as there are no shady palm trees to relax under. The beach is perfect for collecting seashells, and we even spotted some dolphins swimming in the distance.

Bowman's beach

This beach offers a breathtaking view of the sunset, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. However, it's important to be cautious of sea urchins. The beach is adorned with a plethora of small shells, but larger ones are harder to come by. Despite this, the beach is serene and stunning. While there is ample parking available, it's a bit of a trek to reach the actual beach, so it's advisable to bring a wagon if you have a lot of gear.

Turner beach

This beach is a fantastic spot to witness the complete sunset. Additionally, the fishing opportunities are excellent. However, finding a parking spot can be difficult, and it's important to remember to pay the machine. Fortunately, the beach offers nice facilities. It's recommended to arrive early and spend some time here.

Blind Pass beach

This beach is perfect for shelling, fishing, swimming, or simply sitting and unwinding. It is also an excellent spot to catch the breathtaking sunset on Sanibel. They accept both A and B parking passes, as well as an hourly rate of $5. However, please note that parking availability at this location is extremely limited. In case you cannot find a spot here, you might have to park at Turner across the bridge and walk back to Blind Pass. If you plan on shelling or fishing, it's advisable to arrive early; otherwise, you may have to explore other beach options for the day.

Silver Key beach

This is a great spot, about a 3/4 mile walk down from Blind Pass or a longer walk from Bowman Beach. It's very private since most people don't like to walk this far from the parking area. The shelling can be hit or miss, with good days yielding a lot of shells and quiet days yielding very little. This is the end of Clam Bayous, where there is an active bed of King's Crown shells (just remember that live shelling is not allowed). However, be warned that you may occasionally see naked sunbathers or older men in g-string bottoms. If you're not offended by this, it's one of the best "relatively unknown" spots on Sanibel. If you're there at the right time of year, you can also fish for snook along the shoreline and get some good strikes.

The warmest month during the year in this area is August, with the air temperature rising up to 30°C and the water temperature up to 31.1°C. The coldest month is January, with the air temperature dropping down to 20.4°C and the water temperature down to 19.7°C.
