We spent three nights at the end of June and absolutely loved everything about the resort and the island. This trip was a big splurge for our family and we considered other islands, but we are extremely happy that we chose Batu Batu and Tengah. We had a wide range of activities on the island, including snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, playing volleyball, beachcombing, spending time by the pool, attending a shark lecture, and exploring about 75% of the island (we didn't want to risk getting stuck on the difficult-to-access far east shore). I can honestly say that we enjoyed every single thing we did! The island always felt private because there was so much space compared to the small number of guests. We practically had every beach to ourselves. The snorkeling was great, although the water visibility and conditions varied from day to day, so we were glad to have several days to experience it. The biggest surprise was how much I enjoyed the food. I'm not a food enthusiast and I usually prefer snorkeling or hiking over eating, but even I appreciated the quality and variety of dishes available. The only complaint from my husband was that he sometimes felt too full to fully enjoy the next meal, haha. Additionally, the facilities and staff were excellent. Everyone was friendly, helpful, kind, and welcoming. Our beach-front bungalow was stunning, and our kids were thrilled to have their own bunk beds. We were so happy on this island that we even tried to extend our stay by one more night (unfortunately, it was already booked). We hope to return one day. Thank you so much, Batu Batu!

We made a brief stop at this charming fishing village to stretch our legs before embarking on a lengthy drive. The verdant ocean and refreshing chilly wind were delightful. The local market offers fresh catches of the day in the early hours, and we relished in the uncomplicated yet savory Malay cuisine at a nearby restaurant. The assam pedas was so delectable that we couldn't resist having three servings of rice! We also observed that chalets are currently under construction and will be available for occupancy by mid-2023.
