Grassy beaches, clear turquoise water and mountain landscapes - all this is magnificent Bergamo. Mountains and sea - a powerful mixture that takes the breath away from even the most sophisticated traveler! Please don't say we didn't warn you!
Calm, measured rest and the sound of waves are perhaps the most common associations that arise with the word "beach". This is not surprising, as relaxation is exactly what many beach travelers are looking for. If you associate your vacation primarily with such activity, choose one of the 10 beaches in the region.
To make your choice easier, we have prepared a list of the best beaches for relaxation in Bergamo.
As for the main features of the beaches of Bergamo, they are as follows:
Wild beaches with no infrastructure dominate the coastline of Bergamo however, even here you can find a beach with a standard set of accessories: sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, showers and toilets.
The beach offers a pleasant setting with a beautiful view of the lake. However, the pool and sunbeds are poorly cleaned and maintained. The bar service is disorganized and fails to meet the demands of the large number of customers. Additionally, the prices are excessive and the staff is unfriendly and inattentive to any needs.
We tried some antipasti (cheese, meat), but they didn't quite meet the quality standards you would expect in Italy; they lacked freshness. The pizzas were decent, but nothing particularly outstanding. The service was alright, although due to the restaurant being crowded, we missed that personal touch.
We've been searching for a beach that is suitable for small children to easily access the water, with a gently sloping shore area. We finally found what we were looking for here. Thanks to a river mouth, there are even smaller streams or play areas where children can simply build small dams with stones and wood. You have the option to park on the street or directly below the restaurant la Sirena. There is also a section of the shore where you can find some sand. However, the water is mostly rocky, but the stream and lake have beautifully rounded stones. The only downside is the view of the nearby cement factory, which slightly detracts from the pleasant holiday atmosphere. Other than that, we noticed that the beach on the east side of the lake is perfect for swimming. What's particularly great is that there is a playground and a small park about 50 meters away from the bathing area. This allows you to send the children to play while taking breaks from swimming.
There is a spacious green space near the lake where you can relax, soak up the sun, and take a dip in the water (there are steps at the lake entrance). On-site parking is available, as well as a drinking fountain and chemical bath. If you follow the path a bit further, you'll come across two other scenic spots with a beach where the water is crystal clear and the lake entrance is easier. There are no amenities, but there are several bars in the village's small square on the lakefront.
Finding hotels in relative proximity to the beaches is usually fine. Many beaches have enough nearby accommodation, which gives good opportunities to choose the right place to stay.
The hottest month of the region is August - air temperature during this time warms up to 26.7°C and water up to 22.3°C. The coldest month is January - air temperature drops to 5.4°C and water to 4.6°C.
