The food is perfect at Alekos. They serve the freshest fish. We have been visiting this place for 40 years.
This serene and picturesque beach is a hidden gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The journey to reach this secluded spot may be bumpy due to the unpaved road, but the destination is well worth the effort. The tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural beauty of the beach make it a perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life.
This stunning beach is perfect for families and offers a serene atmosphere. While some may prefer to wear beach shoes to avoid the small stones in the water, the swimming is excellent. We make a conscious effort to keep the beach clean by picking up our trash and cigarette butts.
The sandy shore can be reached on foot via a scenic path. We opted for inflatable kayaks, covering just under 4km from Porto Germenos beach (a total of 8 km round trip, taking approximately 2 hours on the water). This journey can be quite exhausting and potentially hazardous, especially in unfavorable conditions. I strongly advise against using an inflatable kayak unless you have prior experience with similar distances. Another beach, located about 300 meters closer, offers a similar experience. The beach itself is stunning, boasting crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life. The only downside was the abundance of seashells scattered along the shoreline, which proved to be a bit bothersome.
