The dog-friendly section of the beach can be found either beneath the castle or at the far end of the beach. It will take approximately 20 minutes to reach the dog-friendly area, but please note that you cannot access it directly from the beach, so there may be some uphill and downhill walking involved. Apart from that, the beach itself is beautiful and there are numerous charming stalls to explore. Additionally, the car park is free of charge.
We only stopped by briefly on our way back home from a quick getaway. The beach had convenient free parking and a beautiful sandy shoreline. There was a snack kiosk that offered a nice selection of hot food options like Fish & Chips, Pies, Hot Dogs, Sausages, Jacket Potatoes, as well as hot drinks. Right next to the parking area, there was a small gift shop and Tearoom, and public toilets were also available nearby.
I spent a few hours at this beach on a beautiful sunny day. There are several benches available to sit on and enjoy the views towards Kidwelly and beyond. Close to the beach, there is a delightful pirate ship where younger children can play. Additionally, there is a toilet block and two food vans that offer snacks, ice creams, and fish and chips. Above the beach, you can see the impressive ruins of Llansteffan Castle.
I recently visited the beach and had a wonderful time. I sat on a bench that overlooked the estuary and enjoyed some delicious cod and chips from the takeaway located in the car park. The batter on the cod was perfectly cooked - not too greasy, but thin and crispy. Afterward, I took a stroll along the beach with my dog and had the opportunity to witness a passenger boat drive up onto the sand. It was truly an enjoyable afternoon. This beach is ideal for families as it offers a clean beach, a play park, toilets, and a walk up to the castle. I also appreciated the fact that they have an outdoor tap near the toilets, which is convenient for cleaning wellies or getting a drink for the dog. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
A beautiful spot to spend a day. We took our granddaughter along and she absolutely adored the beach playground, indulging in ice creams, and exploring the castle tower. It was fantastic to find a place with complimentary parking and castle admission. The surroundings were meticulously maintained, and we enjoyed a delightful picnic in the castle grounds while marveling at the breathtaking coastal vistas. Definitely a destination worth checking out.
