The beach is absolutely stunning, and there is plenty of fascinating wildlife to observe. I've had the pleasure of spotting Golden Plovers, Ringed Plovers, Dunlins, Knots, Whimbrels, Oystercatchers, Stonechats, Chiffchaffs, Reed Buntings, Shelducks, Kestrels, Red Kites, and Sandwich Terns. All the photos featured here were taken by me and are my own property. For more nature shots, feel free to follow me on Instagram at @aber_nature_shots.
The beach is incredibly vast, stretching for about a mile or two. It doesn't attract too many visitors, making it perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape from crowded areas. It's a great spot for dog walking or simply taking a leisurely stroll alongside the crashing waves. The surface of the beach is flat, which adds to its appeal. This place is often underestimated, but it's truly ideal for anyone looking to enjoy the unspoiled views of Cardigan Bay, both to the north and south. If you're in the area, it's worth taking a short drive from the declining small village of Borth to see the immense volume of water at this beach.
This beach is incredibly huge. It's extremely welcoming to dogs, as we encountered numerous furry friends during our visit. The dunes provide a delightful pathway to stroll through, although it can be challenging if you're carrying a lot of things. The dune area is teeming with rabbits. There's a stretch of rocks, perfect for collecting and painting, followed by a spacious beach since the sea is quite far out. However, during our second visit, the beach was filled with jellyfish of different sizes, which deterred us from taking a swim. If you happen to be in the Aberystwyth area and prefer a softer sandy beach, I highly recommend this one.
I stayed at the beach for two nights over the weekend, and all I can say is that it was absolutely breathtaking. I will definitely be returning in the future. - Kaz and Jason
It was a fantastic location that wasn't too crowded. The beautiful hills and country roads provided a perfect opportunity for cycling. Our weekend was truly amazing. We found reasonably priced beachfront parking spots for just £10 per night. Kayaking in the sea was an absolute blast. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We also took a walk along one of the most stunning coastal paths, offering breathtaking views.
