Carat Shed beach is located on the Gulf of Paria (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 30th place out of 54 beaches in the Trinidad and Tobago region 46.4 km away from its center, the city of Port of Spain. It is one of the beaches of La Brea settlement, just 1.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a spacious coastline with blue water and gray sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Carat Shed beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, changing rooms, showers, toilets. .

Carat Shed Beach Facility is a delightful destination, however, there is room for improvement in terms of their offerings. The sheds, which are priced at $200, lack basic amenities such as sinks, making it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. Essentially, you are paying for a roof over your head. Additionally, the cost of using the bathroom is an extra $2, and a day pass will set you back $5. To promote environmental sustainability, a recycling system should be put in place. Furthermore, a complimentary day pass for up to 10 people under the shed would be a welcome addition. The water at the beach is sourced from Tobago, and while it may not be the best, it is still suitable for bathing. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making for a pleasant experience overall.
