The hotel is quite basic and desperately needs renovation. The bar fridges are broken, and they only use two ice boxes to serve the entire place. Additionally, the bar and dining areas are uncomfortably hot to sit in. It would be beneficial to have air-conditioned areas or, at the very least, some fans and water sprayers. There are a few major misleading aspects that I would like to address. Firstly, the all inclusive package is not truly ALL inclusive, as you are only allowed a limited number of drinks. The majority of drinks, including water, need to be paid for separately. I found it puzzling that I could have an unlimited amount of beer but not a bottle of water. Secondly, Wave's restaurant is listed as part of the hotel/resort, but in reality, it is a separate restaurant where you have to pay for everything, regardless of whether you opted for the all-inclusive package or not. Thirdly, there are no games or activities provided whatsoever, so it is advisable to plan your own entertainment. Lastly, while the swimming pool may appear impressive in photos, it is actually quite small in reality. Overall, I would recommend spending a bit more to truly enjoy your holiday rather than being stuck in such a dreary place.
During our visit to Tobago, we had the opportunity to explore the island's beauty. We made the most of our time by embarking on an island tour, taking a boat trip to the Nylon Pool & No Man's Land, experiencing a cocoa plantation tour, indulging in some shopping in Scarborough & Store Bay, and immersing ourselves in the diverse bird and wildlife at Adventure Farm & the Corbain Animal Sanctuary. Attending the Sunday School party added to our enjoyable experiences. Our stay at the Grafton, a 3-star hotel, provided us with comfortable accommodation. Although the hotel lacked atmosphere and was very quiet, the food was satisfying and the cocktails were delicious. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.
Pros: 1) The breakfast main course was excellent. 2) The pool and beach access were enjoyable. 3) The location was convenient, not too close to the main areas but not too far either. 4) The rooms were clean. Cons: 1) There is room for improvement in certain aspects of operations. For example, the room cleaning staff forgot to refill our coffee area. 2) The grass could use some trimming.
The service provided at the beach was extremely poor. The staff appeared disinterested in providing a positive experience and lacked enthusiasm in interacting with us. There was a complete absence of music or any kind of lively atmosphere. Furthermore, we were overcharged by nearly $100 and despite sending multiple emails inquiring about the charges, we have not received any response. If you are looking to have a pleasant time in Tobago, I would advise avoiding this hotel.
We spent a week at the beach and had an amazing time. The only downside was that our room wasn't prepared when we arrived to check in at 3pm. However, the exceptional kindness we received made up for it. The resort organized a delightful Easter egg hunt for the children, and luckily, my daughter was the winner. That truly made our kids' vacation. Grafton Beach Resort did an excellent job.
