This location is nothing to write home about - sure, it's got a big parking lot, but the beach itself is nothing more than a desolate stretch of sand. It's also eerily quiet - not the kind of place you'd want to spend your vacation.
This spot is nothing special; it's just an average location when it's not the season. It's nothing to write home about.
Perfect spot to relax and unwind. We walked from the campsite and found it to be very peaceful and serene. Once you leave the beach, you can explore the nearby town of Luarca - which is really great. I highly recommend it for a pleasant experience.
We happened to be in the right place at the right time to witness the procession of the Virgen del Rosario. It was an incredible sight to behold!
The beach at Luarca offers some stunning views of the town, Fonte Baxa botanical garden, the breakwater and the mountains. However, it may not be the best place for a swim. When the tide recedes, the beach is filled with algae, and when the tide rises, there is hardly any sand to be found. All that remains is a concrete bench and a ramp. also quite rocky and crowded, so if you're looking for a peaceful experience, this might not be the beach for you. I personally prefer to take photos here rather than take a dip. It's more of an urban beach, with the hustle and bustle of the town and not much of a paradise-like atmosphere. There are two areas, one narrower and one wider, near the rise of a path offering some spectacular views. The beach also has surveillance and rescue, bike parking, a fishing area, public toilets and a beach bar in its wider area
