Vilassar de Mar breakwater beach has sadly diminished in size and can no longer host the boats of the past.
The beach in Mataró used to be the best around, but now it's not worth visiting. The only area that is kept clean is the dog zone. Everywhere else is littered with plastic, cans, reeds, and black algae. It's so bad that I stopped coming here altogether, as every time I did, I had to spend hours cleaning up the mess. I've even considered asking the council to pay me for my efforts!
That place is a great spot for those who prefer a less crowded atmosphere. The sand is soft and the waters are crystal clear. If you're looking for a bit of privacy, just take a few steps away from the main area and you'll find yourself in a peaceful oasis. The only downside is that the public showers are a bit of a trek away. All in all, it's a great spot to while away the day.
This spot is perfect for families with kids, but there are days when the water is so polluted with garbage that you'd think it was a landfill! On those days, the only thing that's missing is a sign that says 'Don't swim here!'
This location is a hidden gem - just 200m away from the nudist area, you'll find clear, tranquil waters and plenty of rocks to explore. There's a variety of fauna and flora to discover, plus free showers for your convenience. Just make sure to leave your pup at home - no dogs allowed!
