Playa de la Guancha is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 131th place out of 224 beaches in the Puerto Rico region 76.3 km away from its center, the city of San Juan. It is one of the beaches of Ponce settlement, just 5.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and light sand & pebble cover, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, pet owners etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Playa de la Guancha coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, toilets. .

The beach was peaceful and serene, and we easily found free street parking during our visit.

The beach experience was not quite as expected, as the gusty winds made it less enjoyable. Moreover, the presence of abundant coral and undercurrents made it unsuitable for swimming. However, the beach was well-maintained and provided a secure environment for families and children.

It seems that the restaurants and boardwalk are undergoing some renovations, as mentioned by Maria. The vendors have temporarily relocated to food trucks near the parking lot, but their opening hours remain unclear as they were closed during our visit on a Monday afternoon. Despite this, the beach still offers a pleasant spot to unwind and spend some time.
