Reality is better than any picture
Strolling along the shore and enjoying a relaxing beer is the perfect way to unwind. The cool breeze coupled with the warmth of the sun creates a cozy atmosphere that is hard to resist.
Located just across the fort at Foz do Douro, this beach boasts a mix of pebbles and coarse sand. While it can be windy at times, visitors will find basic amenities such as toilets readily available. The beach is separated from a smaller one by a jetty, which leads to a charming lighthouse. The area is well-maintained and kept clean, making it an ideal destination for those seeking outdoor activities on sunny days.
Cautionary note: The beach is not supervised, and there are no available umbrellas for rent or any form of shade. It is advisable to come prepared with sunscreen and protective gear, lest you risk getting a nasty sunburn. 😎
The beach is adorned with beautiful rocks that add to its charm. However, the small sea shores make it a bit crowded. The presence of weed, algae, and sea life on the shoes causes a slight unpleasant smell. Nevertheless, the beach is conveniently surrounded by restaurants. Easy access can be availed through Bus 500 from Sao Bento and 204, 203, etc. from other areas.
