Praia da Luz is located on the North Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 79th place out of 152 beaches in the Algarve region 70.8 km away from its center, the city of Faro. It is one of the beaches of Luz settlement, just 1.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Praia da Luz coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

This beach is an ideal spot for swimming and basking in the afternoon sun. I visited this pristine beach on August 30th, 2022 and was pleased to find crystal-clear water without any pesky seaweed. Unlike other beaches that can be a bit of a disappointment due to seaweed, this one was perfect for a relaxing day out. Although the water was a tad chilly, it was still warm enough for a refreshing swim thanks to the shining sun. The beach is well-equipped with plenty of bars and restaurants, and even offers free mini showers for your convenience. Without a doubt, this is the best beach in Lagos and a must-visit for anyone in the area.
