I've been living here for over two years, and I can honestly say that this place truly is a paradise!
This beach is a stunning, tropical spot to dine or stay, with its prime location right on the shore. The beach itself is pristine and practically empty. I definitely plan on returning to this hotel for another stay.
The beach is truly remarkable, especially during low tide when the expansive sandy shoreline stretches out, adorned with a few intriguing rock formations. It's quite a sight to behold. Walking towards the river's mouth and taking in the vast emptiness is a delightful experience. Accessing the beach from Las Tablas is a breeze, thanks to the well-maintained paved roads. Convenient parking spaces are available right by the beach, so be sure not to overlook this gem.
It would be a great place if the visitors could just keep it clean! Power outages are a major issue here as well. When there's no power, it also means no water and no cellphone service since the tower relies on the same power source. Unfortunately, there's no backup generator either! Additionally, expats and local homeowners tend to ask for a lot of money when selling or renting properties without disclosing the power and water problems.
Playa Uverito is situated on the Pacific coast of Panama, approximately 11km away from Las Tablas in the province of Los Santos. As I write this review in January 2021, during the ongoing COVID lockdown, it is important to consider the circumstances when reading any reviews. The surrounding area of Playa Uverito exudes a calm and serene atmosphere, making it less suitable for those seeking loud music and vibrant parties. One notable aspect of this beach is the pleasantly warm water, which can be described as warm, warm, warm! With its safe and shallow waters, as well as its sandy beach, Playa Uverito is an ideal destination for children who wish to frolic in the waves, build sandcastles, or embark on a treasure hunt for shells. Although the water may not possess the picturesque azure hue due to the dark sand, it is still very safe and offers great waves for jumping and playing. At present, there is only one small restaurant open for lunch, but the quality of the food is commendable, and they also serve two different local beers that are served cold. Considering all these factors, a day trip to Playa Uverito is definitely worth the 15-minute drive from Las Tablas!
