The beach offers impressive waves that are quite enjoyable. However, it is important to exercise caution while swimming due to the presence of multiple currents.
The beach features a stunningly long stretch of black sand that is particularly breathtaking to behold during sunset. On weekdays, the area is sparsely populated, with only a handful of visitors wandering about. However, come Sunday afternoon, the beach comes alive with the arrival of many Panamanians, who engage in lively parties until around 10:30 pm. The beach is generally quite clean, as it is primarily a residential area with only one 4-star resort (Las Olas Resort & Restaurant) and three beachside restaurants, all of which serve delicious local fish and prawn dishes. Unfortunately, there are no shops within walking distance, so it is best to have a car if you plan on staying for an extended period. The waves are quite surfy, which attracts a small number of surfers, but it is not ideal for swimming due to the wild and unpredictable sea conditions, as well as the presence of undercurrents and riptides. However, the area is known for its turtle refuge, which is undoubtedly the highlight of the region, with seasonal turtle hatching and release events that are well worth attending. The locals are incredibly friendly and always greet visitors with a warm buenas or hello. Overall, I would give this beach a rating of three stars due to its lack of calm and clear swimming conditions.
The beach is pleasant, however, there seems to be an abundance of debris left behind from food consumption. Additionally, there are hazardous rips present, making it important to exercise caution when swimming.
The beach was absolutely lovely. I brought along my furry companions and we had the entire place to ourselves. It was a fantastic experience. However, there was a downside to our visit as we noticed some litter scattered around the area. It's disappointing to see that some individuals still haven't grasped the importance of keeping our oceans clean. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and detrimental to our environment.
The beach offers of breathtaking beauty, however, it is disheartening to witness litter scattered all around, particularly beer cans that end up polluting the ocean. Recycling facilities and garbage bins in strategic locations would go a long way in preserving the beach's pristine condition. Nevertheless, it remains an ideal spot to catch a glimpse of the splendid sunset.
