During our visit to Sardinia, we had the pleasure of exploring Poetta beach. Despite being out of season (2nd-9th October 2022), we were blown away by the sheer beauty of this stunning white sand beach and its crystal-clear waters. The sensation of walking barefoot on the sand and dipping our toes into the refreshing sea was pure bliss. However, the constant presence of sellers approaching us every 20 minutes throughout the day was a bit of a nuisance. Nevertheless, the peaceful atmosphere and glorious weather, accompanied by a gentle breeze, made for a perfect day out. To get to the beach, we purchased our bus tickets from the tobacco shop and hopped on buses PF or PQ, which run every 10 minutes. Be sure to catch the 15-minute bus, as the other one takes over an hour! Along the beach, we found plenty of dining options and easily secured a table without any hassle.
The beach is absolutely fantastic. It surpasses the expectations set by the online pictures. Although there are many vendors selling their wares, it's a small price to pay for the experience. There's a plethora of options for dining and grabbing a beverage.
While not the most stunning beach in Sardinia, this city beach is surprisingly pleasant. The water is crystal clear, the sand is fine and white, and the beach is clean. Additionally, there are free toilets and showers available, as well as plenty of cafes. Multiple free parking spots are available right next to the beach, which felt safe. While it may be crowded in the summer, there was plenty of space in September and the beach-goers were considerate and well-behaved. While not ideal for snorkeling due to the sandy bottom, there are some areas with rocks and seaweed where fish can be found. The water is completely transparent and relatively calm, providing excellent visibility.
The beach has a sandy shore and the water is quite narrow. It's convenient to get to Poetto from Cagliari as there are several bus options available such as 5, 5Ze, PF, etc. and a ticket costs only 1.30. Although it tends to get busier on weekends, the beach is so vast that finding a spot shouldn't be an issue.
The beach, located near a bustling metropolis, is truly remarkable. Its pristine sand and crystal-clear water, which may turn hazy at times due to tidal movements, create a breathtaking view. Overall, it's a delightful place to be.
