The best sea side walk in Ireland is to the right along the shore when facing the beach. There is a yellow sign and there is a style about 1.5 metres to the left of the sign. Off you go follow the track, until you come to a cottage with no roof, then turn around and come back Thank you land owner for not stopping people having a spectacular view and most enjoyable walk. Fabulous on a windy day to see the power of the ocean.

Small blue flag beach which has lost its anonymity in recent years with the arrival of a Surf Life facility. Still- it has a coastal walk to the headland and onto the boathouse - an hours walk. The famous ‘Kieran’s hole’ which is a swimming hole off the rocks is located 10 minutes into the walk down a set of steps. During the summer months- kayaks/ boards for rental, pass on the instant coffee for sale in the caravan park- bring a flask or visit the ‘wooden spoon’ in town! Clare County Council Outdoor Solar showers, toilets that open roughly 9am- 8pm and lifeguard facilities opens itself to wild camping in tents/ campers on the grass triangle overlooking the ocean - free fun !

A small, clean beach with good swimming. If the Atlantic in on form, take a walk along the path at the right end of the beach along the low cliffs. After 500m or so, you'll come to a headland beyond which is some sort of sub-sea shelf that kicks up spectacular waves. Definitely worst a walk.
