Wategos Beach is located on the Coral Sea and it is in the 2th place out of 14 beaches in the Byron Shire region The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This place is paradise! The water is so clear and fresh 🩵 The beach is not patrolled by lifeguards so take care if you’re not familiar with swimming in the ocean.

Amazing beach, and not too crowded (maybe we were lucky) but may be because parking is quite hard to find. Water was so clear and we saw a few dolphin pods throughout the day.

Beautiful calm beach, great place to watch the sunset ❤️ more protected from the wind and waves than other Byron beaches. Can get crowded in summer and parking is metered until a short walk away
