I would give this beach a 4-star rating because it is one of the beautiful beaches in the harbor. However, it is not properly maintained. There are some good arrangements like umbrella tables, but they are in a damaged condition. The heavy wind carries sand dust, which can be dangerous for the eyes and nose. The water is also heavily salted, which is not ideal for enjoying a long time in the water. Moreover, it is risky to have fun in the water as the depth increases significantly just 20 feet from the shore. On the bright side, it is less crowded and you can easily drive or ride a bike closer to the shore. There are various types of Sangu (சங்கு) available on the beach. Additionally, you can witness natural wave formations in the sand caused by the strong wind. Overall, it is naturally excellent, but the maintenance is the worst aspect.
The beach in Thoothukudi is really lovely. One of the great things about it is that there is open parking right in front of the beach. The best part is that you can even bring your two-wheeler onto the beach. It's clean and safe for bathing, although swimming is not allowed. On Sundays, it can get a bit crowded, but otherwise, the number of people is quite reasonable.
It's a great spot to spend your weekends, especially during the evenings.
The beach is not well-maintained and lacks public restrooms. It is also not very clean. However, a positive aspect is that you can purchase fresh fish nearby and there is a park nearby as well. Additionally, there is free car parking available. The authority in charge should focus on improving the cleanliness of this beach.
The beach in India is the cleanest I have ever seen. It is also quite safe to swim as the waves are gentle. Moreover, it is not overly crowded. If you happen to be there when the fishing boats come in, you can even purchase fresh seafood. However, there isn't much else to do.
