Hundestrand Beach is located on the Edersee and it is in the 6th place out of 12 beaches in the Hesse region 133.8 km away from its center, the city of Wiesbaden. It is one of the beaches of Rehbach settlement, just 0.5 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Hundestrand Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis.

I would give this beach 5 stars, but with some reservations. The water is crystal clear and it's great to be able to swim with your dog. The only downside is that access to the water is narrow and the bank is shaded. It would be nice to have a few bushes removed so you can relax by the water with your dog. My dog always wants to swim when we're at the lake, so having a spot by the water to throw the ball is important. I understand that the whole meadow can't be turned into a dog beach, as that would cause chaos. That's why I prefer to visit during the week or outside of holidays, when the rules for dogs are more relaxed. If the dog is well-trained and waste is cleaned up promptly, you can usually find a spot by the water. The kiosk owner above the lawn is friendly and has a good snack bar. It's disappointing that schnitzel is only available on weekends, but it's still worth a visit at any time. 😉

The beach was advertised as a great spot for dogs, with a designated 100m dog beach to the right. However, when we arrived, we found that everyone was swimming with their dogs, making the water turbulent and dirty. Without a wetsuit, we would have ended up covered in slimy growths and mud. We were disappointed as we had been recommended the beach for swimming with children, but we found it more suitable for dog owners. We will stick to the cleaner waters of Twistesee in the future.

This beach is not suitable for dogs at all. It is rocky and steep with no flat shore, making it difficult for older people and elderly dogs to access. There is a staircase that must be navigated, making it unsuitable for settling or playing. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience. The 'Dog Beach' signage should be taken down.

The dog beach is mostly covered in meadow with limited access to the water due to bushes. There is a narrow, steep descent to the water for dogs. While there is a section of beach to the left, it is no longer designated as the dog beach. It can be used as a dog meadow, but it is not what we expected as a dog beach. We are disappointed.
