The beach is stunning, but it seems to only draw in turtles. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to witness this spectacle due to sleeping in, but we knew we could always explore the beaches of Rémire instead.
The beach is a fantastic spot to unwind with your loved ones, surrounded by stunning coconut trees. The locals in Awala Walimapo are incredibly hospitable and offer exquisite handmade crafts that are unique to the area.
This beach is a great spot for unwinding and reading, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can take a dip. However, don't expect crystal-clear water like the Caribbean; the water here is more of a murky river color. Also, be careful of falling coconuts.
The beach in the Amerindian village located at the far end of the Guyanese coast is truly beautiful. (:
The Awala Yalimapo beach is quite beautiful, with its surroundings featuring games for children, carbets with tables and benches. We had a good time there, though it's a shame that the remains of the former penal colony are not given more attention. However, there are workshops run by skilled artisans who create and sell lovely items.
