It's a must-visit destination during the summer.
I highly recommend visiting this beach if you're in the area. I took the train from Marseille on October 1st and it was a quick journey. From downtown, I caught the M1 bus which runs every 30-60 minutes. Although the sea was freezing cold, it was still refreshing to swim in. Additionally, the beach has toilet facilities available for a fee of 1€ each or 2€ for a shower. The weather was sunny and warm, reaching up to 24°C.
There were jellyfish present in the water and no warnings provided on the beach. While the police seemed to be diligent in enforcing parking regulations, there was a noticeable absence of a lifeguard. Perhaps Cassis should consider reassessing its priorities.
Cassis is a town that's well-known for its grand mer beach and chateau, and one of the most easily accessible calanques by car. The beach is pristine and the water temperature stays at a comfortable 23°C, even during heat waves. There's ample space to set up your parasol and enjoy the beach, which is conveniently located near the cassis port, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The beach also has shower facilities and offers rentals for kayaks and other equipment. As for parking, there are several options available in town, but visitors will need to park and walk to the beach. And in the evenings, there's always something going on here.
The beach in Cassis is the largest, stretching 200 meters long. It's a combination of sand and gravel, but be sure to bring a comfortable cushion to rest on as the pebbles can be a bit uncomfortable. During the summer months, there are lifeguards and other amenities available. Plus, it's conveniently located near the city's port.
