Pointe Rouge is located on the Mediterranean Sea and it is in the 9th place out of 59 beaches in the Bouches-du-Rhone region 5.7 km away from its center, the city of Marseille. It is one of the beaches of Les Goudes settlement, just 3.8 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is very crowded place during the season.

The beach has a good stretch of sand and offers options for dining and renting kayaks, but unfortunately, many of the shops on the beach have closed down and the remaining ones seem untrustworthy. The area under the stairs is littered and has clearly not been cleaned in some time, which is quite off-putting. A thorough cleaning is definitely necessary.
