This beach is perfect for those looking to explore the windward side of Grand Cayman. Our spacious and well-equipped two bedroom unit was a great place to stay. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. The constant breeze may be a bit strong, but the beach and diving opportunities are still excellent, unlike the crowded 7 mile beach area.
I had a great time at Morritt's Resort for a week. The beach and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Cayman Islands were amazing. The staff was efficient and friendly. My guest and I enjoyed the food and cocktails at the restaurant and bar.
My parents have been visiting this beach for over 24 years, and every time we return, I am amazed by the stunning views! The sandy beach, ocean vistas, multiple pool options, and enjoyable activities cater to all preferences. I want to give a special mention to Denis & Kayla, the activities directors, who ensure each day is filled with fun and excitement. The resort is family-friendly, with a "quiet pool" for those seeking a peaceful atmosphere. While the rooms may be a bit outdated, they are equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a fully furnished kitchen, a spacious dining area, a cozy TV spot, and a deck for relaxing with a cup of coffee. Additionally, there is a convenient grocery store just across the street, offering a variety of food options beyond what the resort provides.
The resort was okay, but they do tend to tack on a lot of extra charges, which can be a bit frustrating. It's quite far from 7 Mile Beach and other attractions like stingray city. The $120 cab fare from the airport to the resort was expensive. If you're okay with driving, renting a car would be a more budget-friendly option. The beach area at Morritt’s had a significant amount of seaweed, making it less ideal for swimming. On the bright side, my room was clean and well-kept. The bar was fantastic and karaoke was a lot of fun. Just be careful not to lose your room key wristbands, as they charge $10 for replacements. Overall, I found the fees for the stay to be excessive. I understand resort fees, but all the additional charges were unexpected. I would recommend staying here if you want a peaceful and friendly vacation with an ocean view and don't plan on visiting many attractions.
The rooms are good, with nice decor. Mimi's dock is great and the views are amazing. It's located on the quieter side of town, but still only a 25-45 minute drive to most attractions. And I can't forget to mention the excellent housekeeping - we always had plenty of fresh towels!
