Shark Bay is located on the Atlantic ocean and it is in the 58th place out of 62 beaches in the Cape Verde region 164.2 km away from its center, the city of Praia. It is one of the beaches of Bofareira settlement, just 5.7 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and gray sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.

There was a lot of plastic on the beach, which was disappointing. We were also hoping to see some sharks, but given the amount of plastic, it's understandable they wouldn't want to hang out there. The journey to the beach was interesting, but we were disappointed to find out that the pictures of a shipwreck were not accurate. If you want to see a shipwreck, you'll need to go to Praia da Atalanta further west. However, it's important to note that it's dangerous to go straight to the shipwreck beach from here. Rather, you should take the road back to get there. Additionally, the dunes can be dangerous to drive on, so be careful.

Although we didn't come across any sharks, we did come across a significant amount of ocean debris during our visit to Shark Bay. Nonetheless, the trip was enjoyable and I would recommend renting a car for the day. It's worth noting that the beach has gray sand.

The beach has gray sand and unfortunately, it seems to be neglected as there are a lot of stones and litter scattered around. It's a shame that no one seems to take responsibility for keeping it clean.
