Sonaktr beach is located on the Mediterranean Sea and it is in the 9th place out of 13 beaches in the Mostaganem region 9.2 km away from its center, the city of Mostaganem. It is one of the beaches of Aizeb settlement, just 1.9 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. The beach is lovely, especially in the morning when it's pristine. However, it gets littered with bottles and plastic once the vacationers arrive. The prices are a bit steep - 1500 DZD for a table with four chairs in an open tent and 1700 DZD for a closed tent. On the bright side, there's a spacious and secure car park available.

This beach is a great spot for families and feels safe. The water is pleasantly warm and the sand is fine and lovely. However, it's a shame that there is litter on the beach, including plastic bags and bottles. It's especially disappointing that the garbage is all piled up in one spot and doesn't seem to be getting cleaned up.
