Watch out for parking. We received a fine for parking on a side street near the parking lot because all the spaces were taken. It's disappointing to drive 15 minutes on a gravel road only to find no available parking spots. We safely parked our car on a side street with other drivers and ended up getting fined. They really need to ensure there are enough parking spots in this situation. However, the beach itself is stunning!

There are numerous stunning beaches in the Ballina and Byron Bay area, and this is by far my favorite spot in Australia to relax on the sandy shores and swim in the ocean. It was my first visit to Lighthouse Beach in Ballina, and I was delighted to find an abundance of intriguing crabs, pristine white sand, and impressive waves. Additionally, it was pleasantly uncrowded.

The beach is fantastic, especially in June when it's not crowded. The foreshore is incredibly beautiful, and during winter, you can walk for miles without encountering anyone. Additionally, the nature reserve behind the beach offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching. The sunset over the Richmond River is also a sight to behold.
