Beautiful beach preserved in its natural beauty 😍😍😍 lots of surfers, seems like one of their favorite spots in San Diego. There is a decent amount of steps to get to the beach, but well worth it. Lots of sea life - crabs, jelly fish and mussels growing on the rocks. Absolutely great beach to take a walk!!
If the parking lot is full (which it most likely will be as it’s small. Space for around 20 cars) then park on the S Coast HWY 101. Sunset from the bottom side of the parking lot is great and the lot has good facilities like restrooms, showers & picnic benches. This beach is easily accessible by stairs. Turning left at the bottom will take you to an area of the beach that curves around that’s relatively flat for sunbathing and wading. Turing right takes you past a bluff and at low tide some exposed angled flats covered with sea weed. There is a raised area of the bluffs and cliffs which is excellent for panoramic pictures and dolphin spotting! (About 30 meters from the bottom of the stairs). Be careful though because of the shorter beach section on this side you may get caught out by the tide and a little stuck walking back. Would suggest stronger covered shoes as the medium sided rocks on the beach can be a little challenging to walk over in the fact that your footing will slip at every step. A perfect sport for watching surfers, dolphins and sunset. Highly recommended.
This a nice little beach, with not a ton of foot traffic. It’s small and partially covered in rocks. But it’s a very peaceful place to stay for a while. You can swim. And the views are quite nice. It’s not as big as other beaches, but the fact that it’s mostly helpful wins it a lot of points in my book.
Nice little beach for the sunset. Not enough parking in the lot, you can park across the street on 101 and walk, and take the beautiful stairs leading down to the beach. Careful of the beach tar or grease on the pebbles.
Great surfing spot. Definitely one of my favorite southern CA beaches
