Spent a week in Bacton walked the beach early morning and early evening with my dog also let the dog run a few times for a paddle loved it so much we have booked to go back 😀
Sandy and quiet! We came after 6pm (parking charges only until 6pm) to eat our fish and chips and have a walk on the beach. Lovely spot for it! More dog walkers out then, and some people out for an evening swim 😵💫 the sand is generally soft (some areas with small stones) plus sea defences to dodge ... and less fun, the odd pallet with rusty nails in ... ? Would definitely return though as it was very peaceful.
A lovely long beach for walks. Some parts restricted for dogs at certain times pf the year
We took our three dogs on the part of the beach they were allowed on and it was great, nice sand and cool breeze, although on occasions it was blowing a bit too hard. Definitely advise a wind break. Some parts of the beach are pebbly but find a sandy patch and it's great paddling for the kids and dogs. We met plenty of locals on our nightly walk across the beach too, you could easily walk to Mundesley and get some fish and chips from the Catch, great food. It was our fist time in Norfolk and we found Bacton beach good. We also visited Holkham beach which was lovely but we had to walk miles to the sea and the wind was blowing so hard we got sand blasted.
Well this is a bit blissful isn't it? Wide open beautiful sandy beach, with gently sloping seabed. This is a popular dog walker spot but because there are no real tourist facilities, it does stay pretty peaceful most of the time.
