Beautiful bay. Tide was right in, so didn't spend v long here but will definitely be back! Path down is pretty steep so not ideal for older people or those with mobility issues.
Visited Cayton Bay Beach on Christmas Eve, surprisingly busy but a wonderful walk along the beach. Very steep hill. We accessed the beach by parking near the Surfing hut and then stumbled down. It was definitely worth the struggle though because it wasn't that cold, breezy but a really good time. As well as the rough sea, some stony parts are a great spot for stone hunting if you are into that! I believe it is also dog friendly as a lot of families had dogs with them. Overall, worth a visit!
Beautiful golden sand beach! Clean and easily accessed by myself and my 3 year old son, pushchair in hand. Shared a magical sunset with my boy, watching him running all over the beach, shoes and socks off, paddling in the sea! Absolutely amazing view!
Bit of a steep walk down the path but absolutely worth it. Lovely beach with plenty to do such as rock pooling and sea glass/fossil hunting. Small little shop/cafe at one end of the beach with the option of steps back up the cliff.
"Cayton Bay Beach is a hidden gem on the Yorkshire coast. It is a beautiful, sandy beach with stunning views of the cliffs and the North Sea. The beach is relatively quiet, even on summer days, making it the perfect place to relax and escape the crowds. One of the things I love most about Cayton Bay Beach is its natural beauty. The sand is soft and golden, and the water is crystal clear. There are also several rock pools on the beach, which are perfect for exploring at low tide. Another thing I love about Cayton Bay Beach is that it is a great place for families. The beach is shallow and safe for swimming, and there is plenty of space for children to play. There is also a cafe on the beach The Salty Dog where you can buy refreshments the young lady running the cafe is very pleasant and polite, there are free public toilets close to the cafe. If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful beach on the Yorkshire coast, I highly recommend Cayton Bay Beach." Here are some additional tips for visiting Cayton Bay Beach: • The best time to visit Cayton Bay Beach is during the summer months, when the weather is warm and sunny. However, the beach is also beautiful in the winter, when it is often deserted. • If you are planning on surfing or windsurfing, be sure to check the weather forecast and tide times before you go. • There is a car park at the beach, but it can get busy during the summer months. It is a good idea to arrive early or park in one of the nearby villages. • There are no lifeguards on duty at Cayton Bay Beach, so be sure to swim with caution.
