Inferno beach is my ultimate sanctuary, a place where I can find solace and tranquility. The serenity of taking a long, solitary walk without any noise or environmental pollution is truly unmatched. However, I must admit that the first trails like Perigoso are starting to become overcrowded and littered due to the carelessness and bad manners of some visitors. As a frequent visitor to all the beaches of Guaratiba, I can confidently say that Inferno beach is my top pick. Only those with an insatiable passion for hiking dare to take on the lengthy trail, but even if you're apprehensive, I implore you to give it a try! It's one of the most breathtaking places that life has to offer, and it's well worth the journey.
The trek to reach this beach may require a bit of exertion, taking around 45 minutes one way from the Grumari beach parking lot. The trailhead can be found about 1 kilometer up the main road past Grumari beach on the left-hand side. However, the effort is certainly rewarded for those who appreciate the seclusion and untamed beauty of a wild beach. The waves crash onto the shore, hemmed in by impressive rocky outcrops where the cliffs meet the sea.
This beach is a real gem, hidden away from the masses due to its inconvenient location. Unless you're up for a challenging trek through the wilderness, you'll have to settle for the overcrowded tourist traps. The only ways to access this secluded paradise are either through the Pedra do Telégrafo trail or from the beach Grumari, both of which require some serious GPS skills. And don't even think about taking a dip without checking the weather report first - the waves and currents here are no joke. But hey, if you're into risking your life for a glimpse of nature's beauty, this might just be the spot for you.
