I absolutely loved visiting this beach with my little girl - the water was great! The only downside was the steep descent, which might not be suitable for older people. However, the beach is very easily accessible, making it a great option for all ages.
Praia Ouriceira may be on the narrow side, but it's still a great spot to visit. The parking and picnic area west of the beach is conveniently sized and shaded by tall trees, making it a great place to relax. The beach itself is sheltered and has rock pools at either end, as well as mussel beds in the bay. The water temperature is more mild than other areas of Galicia, making it a popular spot for families with small children. Though the business of the same name may be temporarily closed, the beach has been open since late July 2021.
The beach was pristine, with clean water and a tranquil atmosphere. It was surprisingly uncrowded, even though it was August, and it was an ideal spot for a refreshing dip. Plus, it had all the basic amenities you'd expect from a beach.
Today we experienced the super high tide, making it almost impossible to get to the wooden structure (like stairs) without climbing. However, the beauty of the beach made it all worth it - although it's easier said than done! There's a parking spot nearby on the road and it's just a short walk away. All in all, it's a beautiful beach.
This beach near Chancelas is quite intimate and cozy, but it can get quite busy during the summer months.
