It's a crying shame how this beach area is so neglected. It's almost as if the authorities know what needs to be done to fix it, but have done nothing. To make matters worse, the beach has brown shell sand, making it even less appealing. It's a real pity.
This location is easily accessible, making it the perfect spot for a peaceful stroll and a chance to reminisce on the beauty of days gone by. Despite not being suitable for swimming, its crystal clear waters and warm sand are sure to bring back fond memories.
Playa el Carmoli has lost its identity; nitrate spills are a regular occurrence and the banks have been overtaken by reeds, which used to be a salt marsh. On top of that, it is easily accessible, making it even more of a disappointment.
This place is definitely not for the faint of heart. With its brown shell sand, it's possibly one of the most polluted beaches in Europe. Not to mention the mosquitoes the size of an F-16, they are almost as dangerous! To make matters worse, the Rambla del Albujon is nearby, continuously pouring waste from the crop fields, full of nitrogen and phosphorus.
What a great find! We drove down a small built-up area and arrived at this incredible beach, or should I say lagoon? The water was like a warm bath. It's September and there was no one around! There's a small coffee shop that serves wine too. There's also a boardwalk, perfect for people with disabilities to access the beach. The first part of the shoreline is a bit rocky, but soon enough the sand is soft and not too deep, but deep enough to swim in. We had an amazing day here!
