The restaurant provided subpar service and the seafood was not fresh. The taste of the food was quite average. However, the beach offered a stunning view and a peaceful atmosphere.
The place did not match our expectations based on what we saw on Booking.com. The rooms were in a terrible state, with wet carpets that emitted a foul odor due to leaking. The rooms are in dire need of extensive renovations. The wooden tiles were old and faded, the water was cold, the duvets were old and dirty, and there were no cupboards to store our clothes.
The hotel offers stunning views and is absolutely beautiful. The beauty of the hotel is evident right from the moment you step into the reception area, with its impeccable decor. The breakfast provided is not only delicious but also includes a delightful three-course meal. The location is fantastic, situated right on the beachfront. However, the hotel could benefit from some maintenance. Overall, it is a truly wonderful place to visit.
If there was an option for a black star rating on Google, this would definitely deserve it. It was the worst experience ever. The rooms (PH-A) were outdated and overly priced. The staff was lazy and showed no concern for customer satisfaction. The penthouse had issues with the AC and toilet lights not working. The kitchen had a strong odor. There were no TV remotes and the reception had no idea how to get cable TV working. The cleanliness was lacking and there was a lot of wear and tear in the toilet. There was no hot shower and we had to request fans. Unlike other lodges, there were no drinking water bottles provided in the room. The location of the beach was beautiful, thanks to God's blessing, but the management did not care enough to maintain this treasure. The Marisol Restaurant had limited options but was good, although it was overly priced. The only friendly staff member we encountered was Agostinho last night, who made us somewhat comfortable. There was a note in our room stating not to take room towels to the pool/beach, but when we asked the staff for towels, someone in the office refused. Their attitude was pathetic. One thing to note is that Google Maps leads you in the wrong direction from the Katembe bridge. From the roundabout, you should take a left and follow the route to the beach. This hotel will be on your left, but I do not recommend it at all. I saw other guests arguing about the rude staff, poor room conditions, and service quality. I would rate it 2 out of 10.
The staff and owner Benjamin provided excellent service! When I encountered issues with the facilities such as torn linen and dirty beds, Benjamin personally reached out to me, apologized, and refunded my money in full. He kept me informed about the meetings he had with the staff and even offered a complimentary stay in the upgraded facilities. Thank you, Benjamin! I can't wait for my next visit.
