This resort in the Maldives is probably the least luxurious option available. Everything, from the rooms to the food to the activities, is at a basic level. I don't think they have any repeat customers, and I definitely won't be returning here. I've been to other resorts in the Maldives, and this one doesn't live up to what the Maldives is all about. There's nothing particularly wrong with this place, but at the same time, there's nothing memorable about it either. The staff is doing their best to provide some services, but there's only so much they can do. The only positive aspect is that the people working there are very nice. In conclusion, I would recommend choosing any other resort in the Maldives for a better experience.
Our first visit to the Maldives was absolutely incredible! The islands are famous for their breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life. We stayed at SOUTH PALM RESORT for 5 days in a water villa, and the view from our villa was absolutely stunning. The transportation representative, SAFA, provided exceptional service, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition from Male airport to our destination. We were also given access to the Moonimaa Lounge until our domestic flight departure. Our butler, SHAAMIN, was incredibly helpful during our stay, providing attentive service and making sure all our needs were met efficiently and courteously. We were highly satisfied with the level of assistance we received. The food at Banyan restaurant was delicious, and there was a fantastic variety of options available at every meal. Our dining room waiter, MOHAMED, provided attentive and courteous assistance. We were highly satisfied with the quality of service. MD KHYARUL, our room cleaner, went above and beyond, surprising us with a romantic decoration. The attention to detail, including soft lighting and thoughtful touches, added a special touch to our stay. We truly appreciated the efforts made to create a memorable atmosphere. The buggy service was efficient and convenient. The staff, BHANDAL and ALI, were prompt and courteous in providing transportation, enhancing the overall ease and enjoyment of our experience. Overall, we had a fantastic 5-star experience.
This was my first time in the Maldives and I believe I made the perfect choice for my stay. The rooms were impeccable, the service was impeccable, and the food was impeccable. Staying in a Water Villa for five days was definitely a major accomplishment on my bucket list. 1. The room was incredibly spacious and cleaned twice a day. It had a beautiful view and there were plenty of turtles and fish to see. 2. The food mostly consisted of local cuisine, but there were also enough options for those who crave pizza and pasta. There was a variety of salads and desserts, with something different every day. The regular dishes that were loved by everyone were also available every day. I have no complaints. 3. The location was a bit further out compared to most islands near Male, but it was definitely worth the long trip. It would have been better if the connection time was shorter, but that is not the resort's fault. 4. I cannot praise the service enough. From the moment we arrived at almost 3 AM until the time we left, there was always someone available and quick to assist with anything we needed. - The restaurant staff, especially Chef Shamsuddin, were the best! - The servers, Ravi, Salman, Arif, Shahabuddin, and Julie, were all incredibly kind. - The room butler, Shameen, was attentive and helpful, even though we didn't see him much. - Everyone on the resort, including the gardeners, were polite and acknowledged us. 5. The spa is a must-visit. The service, massages, and ambiance were all excellent. 6. The entertainment could use some improvement. Karaoke night was fun for us because we enjoy singing, but it seemed like the patrons wanted to dance after the events were over at the bar every night. - My suggestion is to keep the events shorter and open up the dance floors for a few hours. This would give the guests an opportunity to burn off the food and socialize. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this resort! It may not be a 5-star establishment, but in my opinion, I'm not sure what more a 5-star resort could have provided to enhance the experience at South Palm Resort Maldives.
We loved every aspect of this trip. It felt like we were staying at a resort, but with a more genuine, local atmosphere. I can't speak for the other resorts, but if they have the same Americanized vibe as the ones run by Hilton, Renaissance, and other American resorts, then we definitely lucked out with this deal.
I had a great time on my vacation and the hotel was fantastic. The food, rooms, and service were all excellent. The only issue I can mention is the transfer from Male to Gan, which involved a 5-hour wait on both sides. It wasn't the hotel's fault, but it's something to be aware of. 👌
