Asnelles is a nice, low key, resort. Essentially it closes at the end of August as this picture taken in early September illustrates. The tatty British flag is upside down! The carrefour store is well stocked, the boulangerie is good but closes at 13.00 and isn't open on Thursday. There's a tiny market on Thursday. Biscuit shop and tea room is good. Little choice for a vegetarian to get a good meal. Le Cale offers nothing. The O Dune Zen is overpriced and is under new management and has gone down market. The Italian place next door seems permanently closed. Best option is to go self catering. Lovely beach that is massive at low tide. You can walk to the mulberry harbour.
Beautiful beaches. There are actively centers nearby.
Beautiful area.
On June 6, 1944 the 231 ° British Infantry Brigade was commanded by Sir General Alexander Stanier, the Dorset Regiment landed at 7:25 am, and was the first British Regiment to set foot in Normandy. Landing was difficult mainly because of the German cannon that covered the entire beach on the east side. Several houses were severely damaged and destroyed, as they were used as strengths by the Germans. My sincere respects to everyone who fought in that battle.
Found this by accident but will definitely go back
